Adventists look to Jesus Christ for salvation and believe the Bible is the ultimate authority. God has our best interest at heart and gives us guidance for a happy, healthy lifestyle. Adventists acknowledge the call to be unique, or “set apart” from the world. “Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” (Rev 14:12). In accordance with God’s word, we have 28 fundamental beliefs, and believe that studying God’s word is the responsibility of all believers. As such, we offer many bible study materials and resources in print, online, and in person. One thing that sets us apart, is our adherence to all of God’s commandments, including the 4th commandment, the seventh-day Sabbath. We observe the seventh day Sabbath (Saturday) as described in Genesis 2:2. “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God” (Ex 20:8-10). On the seventh day, we rest from our work and take time to honor and worship God.
